The Season to be merry is just round the corner and it might end up making you wary too. I mean it is for me most of the time, in between keep up with all the work and fun stuff there is also the dilemma of what to wear, and the makeup and hairstyle issues. There is only so much a girl can do aye.

So, in case you are in the same boat as I am then I really hope that these two simple but elegant hairstyles will help solve some of the (how to look good) dilemma. These are so simple to execute and yet will ensure that you look chic and glam.

The first hairstyle is for a Day Look, but of course there is no hard and fast rule you can incorporate it in your night look too.

DAY LOOK: STEP BY STEP

STEP 1:

Take a side parting, the line doesn’t have to be neat (or else you will end up looking like a school girl).

STEP 2:

Take a box section on the top on the head as shown in the picture.

STEP 3:

From the ‘box section’ take smaller sections and back comb* it. Repeat this procedure for the whole box section. Do not back comb the last section, just leave it on top.

* Take a section of hair and hold it straight (exactly as shown in the pic). Now comb it in the opposite direction i.e. towards the root.

STEP 4:

Steps 2 & 3 are done to create volume and bounce on the crown as seen on the model.

STEP 5:

Use a good hold spray like Schwarzkopf OSIS Freeze. This will help the bounce stay longer.

STEP 6:

Take three small sections from the side parting we took in Step 1.

STEP 7:

Now start doing a reverse plait and gradually keep adding more hair to each section.

STEP 8:

Continue the plait towards the other side (ear).

STEP 9:

Finish the plait till the end and tie it. Instead of normal elastic you can also use any fancy elastic to tie it.

STEP 10:

Loosen up the plait a bit so that your hair looks fuller. This is a good trick for those with thin hair.

We are going to make some slight modifications on the Day Look to create the Evening Look.

EVENING LOOK: STEP BY STEP

STEP 11 :

Tie elastic on the plait right where it ends on the other side (ear). After that open the rest of the plait and divide the hair into two equal sections.

STEP 12:

Take one section and twist it till the end.

STEP 13:

Now hold the tip of the twisted end and push back the rest of the hair towards the elastic.

Repeat steps 10 & 11 for the other section as well.

STEP 14:

We want a messy look but ensure that the hair is not loose by using U-pins to hold the hair in place.

STEP 15:

We have used a diamond studded peacock to accessorize it. However you can use any accessory depending on the outfit you are wearing.

Finally, you can use a finishing spray like Schwarzkopf OSIS Sparkler to give shine to your hair.

These are the two final Hairstyles:

These are the Products used:

1. Schwarzkopf Professional OSIS Freeze- This is a medium hold spray.

2. Schwarzkopf Professional OSIS Sparkler- This is for shine.

3. U-pins to hold your updo.
