Peplum also called as the silhouette of Spring 2012 refers to a short ruffle attached at the waistline of a skirt, blouse, or dress.

We have been featuring a lot about this trend since the beginning of Spring 2012, and one reason why I like this trend so much is because it gives instant hourglass shape to the wearer. That’s also the same reason why full figured and bottom heavy women would do best by avoiding this trend.

Since we have already created Lookbooks and where to shop posts on Peplum Skirts, this post will be entirely focused on Peplum Tops. From day to night wear, here are four outfit ideas on how you can dress up your Peplum Top.

Lookbook One: Summer Blues

For a day look there is nothing better than a mix of bright colors and simple silhouettes. And this cobalt blue blouse and floral shorts achieves that- an easy going yet stylish way to wear Peplum.

A white Peplum Top gives a very feminine feel and can easily be one of the most versatile piece of clothing in your wardrobe. Here is one simple way to wear it- For a day look wear it with distress denims and tan flats. You can also wear it with strappy heels for a night out with your girlfriends. The statement necklace will also add a touch of glamour.

Lookbook Three: Weddings and Luncheons

The Peplum top and skirt ensemble is possibly one of my favorite looks. The simplicity and elegance of this outfit will take you through any formal event.  Wear this outfit with sexy strappy sandals and a matching black clutch along with gold accessories.

Lookbook Four: Punk Goddess

If you thought that this trend is only for soft feminine looks then you are wrong. Pair a Peplum top with your leather skinny pants to achieve that sexy punk look. Nude lips with smokey eyes will best compliment this outfit.
